FIT Graduate Studies Business Manual
[For Graphic Design II had to create a business manual for a graduate studies program.]
This was a semester-long project where we had to create a logo and a business manual for any graduate studies program we wanted. I picked FIT's graduate studies program and chose a more abstract route. FIT's logo is very simple and based around a circle, so I wanted to keep that same circle component for mine, but abstract it. Along my process the circle became a modern looking G with a S (forgraduate studies). When that didn't work I started cutting up the different logos I had created and pasting them back together in an abstract manner, which is how I discovered my logo (shown below). You can still see the characteristics of a G and circle, yet it doesn't scream out at you, which I like. Throughout my manual, instead of just placing my logo on the pages, I played off of it in more abstract ways. This was originally a 35 page manual, but I chose only to show 17 of the pages. I also chose to keep the design of my manual as simple as possible and predominantly black and white for my color scheme.
